La Femme Blush On Rouge has been a Hollywood icon since the 1950's, and were created to have intense pigmentation to withstand hot filming lights and long shoot days. They have designed the most famous collection of truly original colors that many other makeup companies often copy but never duplicate. La Femme put blush on the map and thousands of actresses (and consumers alike) swear by the color, performance, and all day wear they get from this great product.
When you look at them in the pan they appear richly pigmented in a smooth consistency cake that delivers a very easy blend, and without chalky results. In addition to a great selection of natural looking shades for light skins, many colors in this collection are perfect to use for medium to very dark skin tones. When applied, you can sheer them out to provide the barest hint of color, or build the color for more intensity.
Some colors are fantastic to use as a light bronzing effect to the high points of the face where the sun naturally hits, such as temples, tops of cheeks, chin, etc. For darker skin tones there are colors that are simply wonderful for contouring under the cheek bone and creating a highlights on top.
These blushes come in matte and pearl shades but the iridescent colors are not overpowering, especially if blended well. Keep in mind these blushes are highly pigmented and go on true to the color in the pan, so your technique and tools need to be able to deliver a buildable coverage. Start with a very light hand to pick up and deliver a transparent and naturally blended look. Then add from there to get the intensity results you are looking for.
PRO Tips: Use a soft fan brush, such as the Highlight Finishing Fan Brush, PPS-0164, the Japonesque Pro Finishing Fan Brush, PPS-0075, or the Royal & Langnickel S.I.L.K PRO Finishing Fan #BC300, PPS-0301 to control the delivery and application for softer looking results. It’s also easier to build the intensity of the color with a fan brush, because traditional chiseled blush brushes are too big and take up too much color, which makes it harder to control the application. Start with a light-handed sweeping motion from just in front of the ear and to the apples of the cheek and then back upward again near the hair line, and downwards to soften it out.
