Michael Davy Plastic Appliance and Scar Material
Michael Davy Plastic Appliance and Scar Material

This Plastic Appliance and Scar Material is a bit thinner (and sometimes easier) to work with than other similar skin plastic materials.  It allows you to build the end result in a more customized fashion for a realistic look to the eye, especially if you are working in HDTV.  It can be applied directly to skin in small amounts to build up the trauma, or it can be premade by sculpting it on a sealed surface, such a glass, or in a prepared mold.  It's perfect to use as an encapsulator for other materials too.

When applying directly to skin, move and mold the material around with the nozzle tip (supplied with the bottle) or modeling spatula into desired shape as it begins to dry.  You can also use a blow dryer to help speed up the curing of the material.  Once dry and firm in place, set it with powder.  You can use washes of makeup color to complete the look if you like.  This product allows you to create deeper or older looking scars simply by applying in an area of loose skin, pinch it together, and held firm while drying and curing.

Material can also be sculpted on a flat sealed surface, such glass, or prepared in a shallow mold that has been sealed or lightly coated with petroleum jelly.  Deeper cut molds will require several layers of material.  Once the molded appliance is cured, powder it well before removing.  Appliance can now be glued to skin simply by using more liquid Appliance and Scar Material. If needed, edges can be further blended down with a tiny bit of cosmetic acetone, such as nail polish remover.

To remove appliance: gently lift from a corner and peel off  slowly by applying an isopropyl myristate remover such as Telesis ISO-GEL, MM-1111, underneath as it is lifted.  Any remainder residue can be removed with soap and water, or a bit of nail polish remover.

Professional tip:  for a great broken blister effect apply to skin directly as described above and set with powder.  Before the material cures or dries completely, pull open just the top of the powdered appliance, to" break the blister", revealing a shiny layer underneath.

IMPORTANT: Always test first for skin sensitivity before using.  For best results when applying directly to skin, make sure it has first has been cleansed of skin oils with an alcohol based astringent.  DO NOT USE this product near the eyes, nose, on broken skin, or on hair.  If irritation occurs discontinue use immediately.  Contains acetone, so be especially careful when handling or applying this product.  Apply in a well-ventilated area.

For Professional Use Only.
Available in Clear, and Puss Yellow which makes great looking WMD/mustard gas blisters.
