Ure-Fil® 9 - Cab-O-Sil is the trade name for Fumed Silica.  It is an extremely fine white powdery substance, and under some lighting conditions it has a slight bluish cast to it.  It is frequently used as a dulling powder for tacky or shiny surfaces, or as an additive to matte down shine in substances such as silicone rubbers, or in liquids such as adhesives. 

It can be used in combination with other fillers to improve working properties of silicone, resins and adhesives.  It can be combined with other compatible mediums to make a patching paste or putty.  It is also naturally hygroscopic (takes up and retains moisture) yet physically hard and durable as glass.  These properties cause it to be irritating to the skin while in it's dry form so use protective wear when working with this product.   

WARNING: Ure-Fil® 9 is technically nontoxic, but as with all particulate substances, it is dangerous if inhaled.  Use extreme caution and have protective measures in place when working with this product.  Use a dust mask or approved respirator when handling this substance.  Use in a well ventilated area.  For professional use only!
